Here’s how to get the most out of our excellent occlusive smoothing and plumping troubleshooters
Our two kinds of targeted, occlusive microneedling patches–Microfiller Eye for the undereye area and the 3D Microfiller Patch for the nasolabial folds–use self-dissolving micro tips to plump and hydrate the areas on your face where you want it the most. Active ingredients include cross-linked hyaluronic acid, peptides, niacinamide and brightening Vitamin C.
Q: Regimen: May I use my regular skincare products before applying the patches?
A: Yes but you don’t have to, you can use the patches on their own. The main thing is that for the patches to properly adhere, the skin must be totally dry with absolutely no product residue left on the skin. Therefore, if you want to do your evening regimen first, we suggest applying your skincare products at least 30 to 60 minutes before applying the patches.
Q: Positioning: May I put the patches in a different place than is recommended on the directions?
A: Yes but remember, we’ve designed and contoured these to snugly adhere to specific areas of the face. That said, though Microfiller Eye is designed to go under the eyes, some people like to move the patches up to the crow’s feet area. 3D Microfiller Patch is designed for the nasolabial folds but they’ll also work nicely for the marionette lines (that is, the grooves going downwards from the corners of the mouth.) No matter where you choose, try not to move the area as movement can dislodge the patch from position.
Q: Timing: The directions say to leave the patches on overnight but I have an important event this evening. May I still use them for a few hours instead?
A: Yes! But you’ll want to leave them on for at least four hours for maximum smoothing and luminosity.
Q: Anything else I need to know?
A: Yes, since the patches are designed for overnight, you’ll want to sleep on your back so as not to inadvertently rub them off. Of course, for those who are side sleepers and prefer to snooze with a face plant right into the pillow, this is easier said than done. But sleeping on your face literally presses wrinkles into the tissue and over time, permanently so. One dermatologist we know says she doesn’t even have to ask what side of the face a new patient sleeps on because the lines are etched right there on her face. We also know a beauty expert who went to a hypnotherapist to help train her for comfortable and restful back sleeping. It worked!
